| Abstract | The project analyses modern Latvian pronunciation trends and creates phonetic resources and tools that will allow the development of a contemporary standard Latvian pronunciation dictionary. The project's tasks are: (1) to conduct acoustic phonetics research on current spelling issues, clarifying current pronunciation trends; (2) to develop a concept for Latvian language phonetic transcription; and The Handbook of the Modern Latvian Pronunciation, (3) to develop a universal phonetic transcription tool for the Latvian language; (4) to develop a manually annotated phonetic data set; 5) to extend the largest open Latvian online dictionary Tezaurs.lv with support for phonetic transcription and pronunciation of words. |
